I've been lurking here for a while checking out the wagons. The last year or so wagons have been catching my eye all over, finally found a decent one for a starter car. Bit rough around the edges, but it runs, and stops, and didn't cost me an arm and a leg, so a good starting point I thought. Not in a big hurry on restoring her, just gonna take my time and enjoy the process.

Remember, the dog rides in the back.

Thanks guys. I should have said "first wagon" in the post title. been driving full size trucks all my life and the wagon is the first car for me.

and yes, Apollo has already gone for a ride in the back. He doesn't let me travel alone often :)

Welcome to the nuthouse we call home! Great choice of wagon, that's for sure. Certainly looks good and solid as well. It is really nice to see a base model wagon that has been cared for all these years. It seems that many of the base models, no matter the make, were bought to be used hard, put away wet, and scrapped young. That makes the few remaining examples very rare indeed. I'm guessing that with the 6, the 3 on the tree, and the V-100 trim, that you are also looking at manual brakes and manual steering. If you plan to drive her very much, I would definitely think about an upgrade to the brakes. For sure, a dual circuit master, and power assisted front discs would make a big difference to the safety factor. What ever you do to and with her, start a thread in the projects section. We would all love to see what you get up to with her.

Welcome aboard! You've started off well - you got a white station wagon and you've got a picture of your dog with the wagon. Congrats!

    Welcome to the SWF, JBlose....

Nice choice for your first vehicle. Lots you can do with that one. We've got some Mopar wagon experts here at your disposal, but as an additional resource, I'd suggest http://www.forabodiesonly.com/
It's a great forum, specifically for Valiants, Darts, first-gen Barracudas, etc.

    Nice doggy, nice doggy.........

Welcome to the madness JBlose! :Welcome:

He said "3 on the tree" so I'm guessing 3 sp manual so no push buttons on dash(Auto). I think those were gone on the Auto trans cars by 1966 anyway.

it is definitely a 3 spd manual. spent the day cleaning out one side of the garage, my crew cab chevy 3500 long bed didn't fit in there! so it just became storage. Thanks for the forabodiesonly link, another cool site. I need to get some pictures before I get too far so I have some before and after info.

Thanks again for the welcomes. I am sure I will be having questions as I roll along,
