Hello All, Just joined this group....hoping shared knowledge and info will be good for all. I see some really nice machinery around here ! I currently have a 1961 Catalina Safari, and a 1961 Bonneville Safari (parts wagon) as well as a 1961 Ventura 4 dr sedan (parts car).... Hoping to combine the best of these into a nice cruising wagon. Will keep the original 389 / 315 Hydramatic. Add the stainless bodyside trim from the Ventura and the factory A/C as well. The Bonny body shell my be the basis, as it has good doors and roof- but needs rocker replacement. A "Period Correct" hot-rod wagon (minor mods + wheels/tires) look is what I'm after. No modern billet or bling. Strong, reliable and a bit of 'cool' factor ! I will have a number of surplus parts before long..... Cheers, JoeSafari
Welcome to the madness Joe! The 61-63 era big Pontiacs are some of my favorite wagons. Post up a couple dozen of your fleet when you get a minute. We have/had some members who have done those cars so hopefully you'll get some good advice here.
to the wagon train, joe. I like the direction you are going with that project! Can't wait to see some pix...that era's Ponchos are cool wagons!
to the fastest growing forum on the net! Pictures are king here (we're very visual) but we also like to talk. You were warned....
Welcome aboard Joe. Nice to see another Pontiac wagon hanging out with us. You have a great year. Look forward to seeing pics of it.
