I have visited this site on and off since January and finally decided to join up. I have a 87 Buick that I want to get painted and was wanting to get some options on what I should do. I am going to attempt to attach a picture of Rex and some of the two tone options I have come across I think I want to go blue and white. I'm not sure what style to go with. Let me know what you think

Welcome to the nuthouse we call home! Is your Buick Estate wagon wood sided right now? If so, you could easily go with the second colour inside the trim, where the wood is right now. On the Buicks, the moldings are polished, so that is a look that works well. As for the exact colours, I would look at the factory 2 tone options from the factory. One thing I have noticed is that having white enamel can sometimes look a bit odd when the other colour is a metallic. If you are changing the colour anyway, the sky is more the limit when it comes to the choices. Back in 78, there was a 2 tone blue on blue that was beautiful, and the one shade was only available as part of the 2 tone package. It is illustrated in the brochure. What ever you do, just enjoy. I'm sure you will get all sorts of advice around here. Some of it will even make sense!

:Welcome:JPC. MY advice is look at lots of other wagons of all kinds and pictures of wagons. You may change your mind a dozen times. With the cost of paint and all the prep work try to get it right the first time. But mostly enjoy it and have fun.

My '77 Buick Estate is painted the original light blue, with the part that was "wood" painted a dark brown.
This was done by the previous owner.
Since repainting the blue part and replacing the vinyl "wood" trim is very expensive, I looked at other options.
Earlier Buick Sportwagons (Vista Cruiser clones) and LeSabres I have seen had the sides painted silver or dark blue.
I like the dark blue/light blue combo, but midnight blue, like black, shows off every flaw and door ding, so I'll probably go with silver grey sides when I finally get around to new paint.
Take your time and look around, see what you like.
    Its your car, after all.

    Welcome aboard. :tiphat:
And don't listen to Denny (model T), even though he's right this time.
the Florida sun has adled his brain a bit.:rednose:
