Yep, it's true. I've been looking around for a while now for a full size wagon and finally have one in my driveway. Kinda funny how things work out. I had started looking a while ago and missed a few that I thought would have been a good candidate. One was darn near perfect but the timing was a little off and the buyer I had ended up finding another car before the seller could put everything together. I hadn't stopped looking completely, but I was focusing on other things when I got an e-mail and then a phone call from a guy wanting to sell his parents car. I'm now the 3rd owner of this 1966 Pontiac Bonneville wagon. They even sent me the bill of sale from when they bought the car back in 1968. It's been off the road for a while now and will need some TLC, but I'm pretty happy with it. Built in Arlington, TX and sold new to El Paso for the first two years. Then, 43 years in Tucson AZ. She's dried out a little, but pretty much rust-free. Even the spare tire well is completely solid. I think I'm just lucky AZWagon didn't find it first. Here is a picture as we unloaded it and pushed it about a block down the street to my driveway where she sits now. It's got some nice options... A/C, AM/FM, power seats, power brakes, 3rd row seat (standard for '66 Bonneville), power windows, power antenna, hazard flasher (which was an option until '67).
Nice score, teej! Knowing you and your love for Ponchos that car will be a beauty. Everything is there! Even the fender mirrors! Those were classy wagons. Good selection.
Wow, teej! Now I see why you are wanting to sell the Goat Wagon! A '66 Bonneville wagon is so totally cool! It's equipped super nice, and looks like to be in great shape! Looking forward to a bunch of pics of it inside and out! Happy for you! David
Congrats, Teej! She looks like she'll fix up for the dance real nice. I'm a big admirer of those '65-'66 Bonneville wagons, from waaay back. I still remember a white '66 on a Ford Dealer's used car lot back around 1970. It was B-utiful. All fully loaded like yours. Alas, on my income as a college kid, I was no where near able to afford it.
With the options above, I don't think I'm going to let this one go.... But I've got a '67 Tempest wagon I'll sell you!
HOLY CRAP! A tri-powerd 421, stick shift!!!?? THAT is a helluva car! I can't wait to see you start working on that, teej! Don't ever let that wagon go!
