Hello; I tried to fight turning into a full blown Pontiac guy. But it happened. I have a 67 Tempest and was looking for a 67 Tempest Wagon. In my travels, I found a 62 Catalina Wagon 9 passenger. I have only driven it once in the last month that I have had it. It needed rear brake lines and a radiator. Shipping delays on the radiator stopped me from driving him. The new rad is nice, but then the water pump went, go figure. Now the water pump should be here today or the next day. Excited about getting him on the road to tour. Here are some shots. The rusty hubcaps are now gone. Gonna paint the rims and the line down the car.. Dave
Great find, Dave. Looks like it's been well taken care of for the past 48 years. Best of luck with it.
Thanks for the niceties!!! There are a few things that ARE wrong with it. No emblems on the outside, wrong front seat, transmission is shot... And the normal 50 year old car things...Smell of mold, headliner is moldy .. But hopefully, I can fix that in a few weeks.... I just want to drive him to a show!!!! THANKS again....
All fixable, definitely. You've got a great starting point. I wonder what the heck happened to the emblems. That's odd; I'm sure they didn't just fall off.
Hey '67, did you see the other '62 Poncho wagon we've been talking about? Check it out: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9659
Bondo Honestly, I think that the original color was blue. Some one BONDO'd over the holes for the emblems and then they were lost in translation............ Nothing a drill or double sided tape can't fix...
Still never understood taking a great car like a Tempest and making it into a GTO.. Just buy a GTO.. The cool part about a wagon is that you can bring a lot of stuff with you for comfort. The bad thing about a wagon is that you can bring a lot of stuff with you for comfort....
