After many months of searching, I finally found a VC, almost in my back yard. It was about 100 miles away and I thought it was a great find. It is a typical Some-Assmembly-Required, Battery-Not-Included project, but it's got a lot of potential.

It's got all the stuff I was looking for, 3rd row seat, 455, AC and a few things that are just a bonus... Bucket seats, tilt...

I need to push it back out of the garage, rinse it off and take some decent pictures of it, but I just wanted to share....

    Thanks guys!

Yeah, I thought those wheels were bitchin' too!! They may not have been my first choice if I didn't get them with the car, but I think they are very era correct, so I'll definitely run them for a while. Those back tires are freakin huge,...295/50/15

It's got a 455/TH400, so I'm hoping I'll be able to lay some mean streaks in the near future... That is if I find a posi for it....

Yes, I certainly did!!......Okay readers,,here's the whole story..in a nutshell......I'm the guy who originally built this car back in 1994. I built it from two Vistas, a 1970 that I bought in Wisconsin in 1991 for $260.00, that was all rusted out along the bottom,(wheel wells, rocker panels, etc.),,,,,,but the roof around the skylight windows was perfect. Owned it for 1 week, moved to Florida with it. Then I found another one in a junk yard that had a rust free lower body and a little font end damage, and lots of rust in the roof. So, I cut both roofs off, and had the good roof welded to the good body and made this car.......Then,,,,right when I was nearly finished with it's restoration, I fell on hard times, lost my job, and one by one, I lost all of my cars. Including 3 Vista Cruisers, my fully restored 1971 Cutlass S, and my 1969 Cutlass S. That's everything I'd ever worked for in my entire life, gone in a flash, with no possible hope of ever seeing any of them again. That was about 16 years ago, and I thought I'd never know what happened to these cars. There are many chapters to this story, including how I found this car for sale on ClassicOldsmobile.com. If you go to that website, you'll see more posts on this very story. I was on that site after we bought our 1970 Cutlass Supreme, the seller of that car told me about ClassicOldsmobile.com, so I registered as a member, created a profile, and promptly forgot all about that site all together. Then I saw a video of our Supreme on YouTube, and wrote to the guy who posted it. He was the guy who owned the Cutlass Supreme before the guy we bought it from, and asked me where I found it,,"was it on ClassicOldsmobile?" he asked....No, on Craigslist I replied..but then I returned to ClassicOldsmobile, and discovered that I'd been there before, and just for fun, I started looking at cars for sale,,and BANG!!!,,There,,, right before my very eyes,,,was my long lost Vista Cruiser,,FOR SALE!!! Man I'm tellin' ya,,I just couldn't believe what I was seeing!! Long story short,, my girlfriend and I ,,after corresponding with teej,,,AKA,,Longroof,,,booked a flight to Florida and bought it back. A lot of people have been following my story,,and I'm truly amazed at the whole thing myself.. This is my car,,I built it, and lost it 16 years ago,,and now,,,it's back home in Wisconsin,,in my garage!,,,,and it was still,,an unfinished project,,which has allowed me to pick up where I left off, finishing the restoration myself,,and this car is getting the Royal Treatment, little by little, I've been fixing it back up how it was when I first built it all those years ago.........

Actually Teej's posts on this car are from 2007. This story gives me hope that maybe someday I'll end up with my 442 wagon back in my driveway. At least for now I know where it is...

    Congrats drcutlass!!!
