My new, first wagon!

Ok, so it's been quite awhile since I've been on here. Unfortunately I had to wait 4 weeks to get plates for the car, so I didn't even get a chance to cruise with it. They started treating the roads with salt crap, so in the shed it went, plastic underneath, stabil in the tank, and dryer sheets all over on the inside to keep the mice out. I should have more pics, but it's stowed away in the corner and this is the only one i took. so, here it is!



It's got a 402 big block, a California performance 2004R trans (built for 1000hp ) Hurst shifter, a completely rebuilt 12 bolt rearend with 3.73 gears and eaton posi, recovered seats, new carpet, NOS floor mats, and a lot of other cool goodies. It needs a little work in the engine department, its only got a 670 cfm carb and 2 inch exhaust, but for now it's okay. It's exactly what I wanted, a get in it and drive car!

Put the dryer sheets (Bounce etc) under the hood also. Cedar chips sprinkled under and around the car helps, bug don't like cedar

 

Good idea! I will do that today. The plastic is because the floor is dirt.. 2x10 pieces of wood under the tires too.

The car came from NY, i bought it from a guy over in Neenah, WI. It has had a paint job, guessing about 20 years ago. A pretty clean rust free car for the most part. The drivers rocker panel has some really small holes, but that's about it. Floor pans and trunk/spare tire pans are all clean and rust free, as is the frame and everything else. He added a lot of nice things too, like poly bushings, some PST suspension pieces, front disc brakes (manual), a HD aluminum radiator and a pretty heavy custom driveshaft. He also installed all new tie rods and drag link, and a quick ratio steering box. I did sneak it out on some backroads and it is a really nice driver.

Plans for the spring are a new water pump because it's got some play in it, maybe an electric fan instead of engine driven, and swapping the carb. I've got a 750 on my small block grand prix which is a touch too big, and it'll work nice on the big block.

What else should I do?

Only thing I would add to your project list is converting to power brakes to make stopping a little less stressful.
