I was showing my 69 Firebird Sprint to someone when he spied the Sunbird wagon in the back, he asked if I was interested in selling it instead? Well I have to many cars, and really need to sell two in order to free up some space to work & some $$$ to finish the projects I have. The Buyer is young and did not know Pontiac sold a version of a Vega. He was surprised by how well it drove, handled, & braked. Made me an offer I accepted, but no cash has changed hands yet so nothing definite. We will see. I will miss it, it was the 1st little H-body Pontiac I bought, it really surprises people with the hopped up 231 V6, 200R4 trans, & 4.11 posi rear axle. I think it looks good in the original Chesterfield Brown, Tan Interior & 13" Snowflake wheels. I really haven't driven it much sense I bought the V8 Solstice. The 10 year classic car plate just expired on it last month. I will be down to just 1 1978 Chesterfield Brown Pontiac Wagon, the Catalina Safari. Now to just get the Firebird Sold,
Isn't it funny how those deals work out sometimes? Well, if the young man will take care of it and get enjoyment out of it, then I suppose it doesn't sound like a bad deal. As you said, you need the space and money and you haven't driven it much. Sounds like it might be the perfect situation.
Those were called Sunbirds in the U.S? They were Astre's here in Canada. Dad bought a '75 hatchback new.
They were Astre's in the US in 75-77, they were Sunbirds in 78-79 after they stopped selling Astre's. Just like Vega Wagons were Sold as Monza Wagons in 78-79.
