I used to belong to a stationwagon forum a long time ago, but have not been on for some time now. The last moderator was MIA and a stationwagon2 forum was up and running for a long time, but was not the same so I quit logging in. Good to be back onto a SW Forum JE http://www.woodywagon.com
Welcome to the madness Woodgal! Those are some nice wagons on that site. Interesting to see the factory AC on the 57 Nomad, original spec compressor it looks. Oh, .
The Nomad with the factory A/C was considered what one would call a "Brass Hat" car. Executive at GM ordered cars with every option available at the time. My friend in California who I have known for over 30 years is selling some of his wagons and included in that is this nice Nomad. Sorry to see it go as it is a nice looker. My husband might just bring it to our home in Arizona for a test drive until it sells!
woodgal glad you finally found THE station wagon forum. Stick around and enjoy the members and wagons here. Might even find an old Chevy lover or two.
We tend to have a lot of fun here Woodgal. Maybe more than we are supposed to ????? Naw, not with this many caring people full of great ideas, lots of humor, and many new folks adding their piece to the big station wagon puzzle our kind host Steph arranged. Glad to have you join the fun.
Thanks everyone for your nice welcome -- @safari57 - Drove a 56 Safari with a modern drive train including Vintage air/heat as my daily driver for 5 years. Had to sell because I needed a newer car for my aging mother's doctor appointments. That is one of the advantages of living in Southern California (now in AZ) with nice weather most of the time. LOVED MY SAFARI!
