Alright! A wagon forum! I’ve always preferred wagons to sedans or coupes. My dad had a 1965 Pontiac Catalina wagon in dark metallic blue, with that dual-opening tailgate. It had a blue interior, three row seating (the backwards facing rear) and a power tailgate window. My first car was a 1970 Volvo 145s, which came with a previously unheard of rear window wiper! An absolute brick that I drove for 14 years all over the eastern US and Canada. I’ve had two 1994 Honda Accord EX wagons with a 5-speed manual (a one year car: EX trim with a manual); the first one stolen and totaled, the second still my daily driver with 283,000 miles at this point. It’s my avatar photo. In 2015 I bought a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited wagon from the Pacific Northwest which was also a one year car (Limited trim with a 5-speed manual). It has a flat-four intercooled turbo boxer engine and all wheel drive. Very easy to rack up the drivers license points in that one. I do not agree that the SUV is the new station wagon. They still make and sell wagons in Europe and Japan, as well as Australia. Somehow we got the short end in the USA.
