sorry Fannie...I know you were proud of me for selling 2 of my wagons...but.....:banghead3:

so heres the story...I see this wagon CL.. 1 month ago...
    ..I send an email...
..I hear nothing back for 2 weeks....then finally i get.. ITS SOLD (that was all).....booo:cry:

I email back..and say "thanx for the belated response...I just needed it for parts anyhow"...(my polite sarcasm):D

then..Sunday nite I check my email and find...
"Hi..if your still interested the sale fell thru so its back up"
so...I tell him to call me...he calls...and tells me a torrid tale of bad divorce and waste of money...
..and a lengthy story of the clown that wanted it first...then brought it back because he couldnt get the motor to UNSIEZE..???????:49:.......:rofl2:

so anyhoo...Tuesday nite i took off from work and drove straight to it....full well knowing it has a siezed 390....so im pillaging thru the car and find reciepts for NEW rebuilt MOTOR AND TRANNY in 2002 !!!!
Its got 20,000 miles on the motor and siezed tighter that a ^%#@

Turns out he was getting a divorce and the EX wouldnt let him on the property...so it just sat for 5 years !!...whata freekin waste !!!

long and short...yup...I bought it !!:D...he was so fedup with the whole deal that I got it for darn near nuttin !!

and the funny thing is?...originally...i just wanted it for the frame !! ITS MINT !!...and would bring my 66 CS back to life !!

but after getting it up on the trailer tonite...I may have to rethunk this:dancing:
    aside from the motor issue..and a rotten tailagte....HOLY crap...its nice !!!

and heres its resume...and my dilema..:D
    She's a 1968 Ford Country sedan...390/auto...Factory Air...big trailer hitch...3rd row...disc brakes...sun burnt interior(but real nice)...MINT frame...112,000 miles(had vintage plates 5 years ago)

and the question is...to pilfer frame or not to pilfer frame??
I got some thunkin to do:dancing:

    bad nite pics:)
metal where the 66 has none:D

Cool. I'd say you gotta do what you gotta do. With the bad frame on the CS, there's no way to put together 2 wagons - so you might as well use the best of both to make one great one.

I would sell both and go from there. I just can't justify a frame swap on a 66 Ford wagon.

Sounds like your patience paid off - the fun part now is planning which way to go! Take the best from both and make one nice ride! The new one looks pretty straight.

That's a dome scratcher there...I have to agree with the boys that a frame swap seems like a LOT of work, but one good solid wagon from two sounds like a pretty good outcome also...:scratchchin:

Not that I could do one, but with the right equipment and a bit of help at the right time, it's not too difficult. I've paid for new frames being an insurance damage appraiser (usually pick-ups), and shops can get it done in about 2-3 days.

I am not knocking the Rev at all or saying a frame swap is a bad idea. What I said was "I can't justify a frame swap on 66 Ford wagon".

If I translate this correctly, he is suggesting your try unsiezing the motor. Is this possible, cause I was wondering this too? I understand what seized means but is there damage done to the motor because it siezed or is the damage done in trying to unsieze it?

Also, I'm still proud of you Rev, your a good boy at heart...:D...there are worst things you could be doing.

That 68 looks WAY to nice to sacrifice, even to save a 66! Rev, Heaven knows there are enough Ford engines out there to pop one into that, with a good overdrive attached! Think of the number of F-150s with 351/AOD combos. That would make a great donor for the 68. And then good luck finding a frame for the 66. There is a place in Alberta that advertises frames. Not sure who or where they are, but it may be worth checking out.

Im much fonder of the 66...but..believe me...ive thunked about that:D

cylinders are full already;)...as for 2 swaps?....ya....sounds waaaay too much like work doesnt it?:D

    :rofl2::rofl2:

worse things?...could you explain that to the g/f ?:rofl2:
as for damage to the motor?...yes!! without a doubt...they never come out unscathed...theres always some damage to the cylinders or rings.

after talking with a few shops yesterday....Im giving some serious thought to getting it running...and sell it !! just to pay for the frame rebuild on the 66...seeing that one of the shops offered to do it for cheap...if i take it out;)
