I know they were never in production. But I’m curious if anyone has built up a Pontiac Safari version of the 91-96 B body wagon. Or considered it. Gave it the Pontiac vibe (no pun intended) with sport wheels, taillight grilles, red dash lights…. Since we got the Caprice, Impala SS, Custom Cruiser, Roadmaster, even some Fleetwoods. The Pontiac is the only one missing.
There was a guy who had one that he did up that way. It was dark green and looked well done. Older pictures of it occasionally surface on Pontiac forums or the book of faces, but no one really seems to have any info on what was done or when and any time someone asks it always devolves into arguments over whether it is factory or not.
I believe you're referring to Mr. Pat O'Malley's Parisienne, built from a Chevy Caprice. I may have a few pics. Let's see.......
Pat constructed the 'Pontiac-ish' front grill panel from something else - not sure what. He's a pretty talented guy. You know Joe's ('JMT455' here....) beautiful 1958 Buick Century Caballero? Pat did the interior.
Nice! Looks like he did a great job! I was thinking another way to do a grille would be to start with one from an Impala SS. Looks pretty similar to that from a Bonneville SE. But the way he did it looks more aggressive, which is nice for a Pontiac.
I also want to say he had Pontiac logos on the interior dash and seat too, but I could be misremembering. It's been a number of years since I last saw it pop up.
Thanks to all the help here, I found the old master thread on another forum. Don’t know if I’m allowed to put up a link. Amazing work inside and out. Pat is definitely talented and detail oriented.
