It's great to be on here. I just purchased a green 1969 Cadillac Station Wagon. Drove from Indiana to New York City with truck and trailer to get it. It has the usual Cadillac amenities as well as: power windows/locks, power rear tailgate window, heated front seats, cruise control, tilt/telescope steering wheel, auto leveling air ride, twilight sentinel, auto-dim headlights, and a factory alarm system. Of the options I have listed, only the power windows, power tailgate window,tilt/telescope, and twilight sentinel work correctly. I have begun work on the rest. The car was factory undercoated in 1969 so at best, there are a few sparse surface rust spots on the under body. Absolutely no rust on the body of the car. Runs like a dream, has good brakes, front suspension needs a little tlc but still a good driver. The interior is all original so it has the normal wear, but all of the upholstery is in really good shape. The car has 98,XXX original miles on it. I am in love!! If you are into Cadillac Station Wagons at all, then you have probably realized that this is one of the pictures that has been floating around the web since the car recently came for sale. As soon as I get some time, I will be completely detailing the car and putting some pictures in the gallery. One of the main reasons I joined this site was to try and get as much history/information as I could. Any information about production numbers, stories, or anything else would be very helpful. From what I have learned, this is one of 14 built in 1969. This and the 4 others used for transporting the GM Execs from their private planes to the 1969 Indy 500 were built in Knightstown, Indiana by National Coaches (there is a badge from National Coaches on the car). From there, these 5 were sold at a Cadillac dealer in Texas. I believe that 9 more 1969 Cadillac Wagons were ordered from National Coaches. Thanks for your interest!!!
Welcome, Kordwood! Nice to have a vintage Caddy wagon owner on here. As I am sure you are aware, your wagon is one that is pictured on the Cadillac Station Wagon page (not connected with StationWagonForums): http://www.cadillacstationwagon.com/ - Nice site that details the differences / coachbuilders, etc. I like yours particularly because it seems to be well taken care of, and it's put together prettly much as if Cadillac actually manufactured it. One area that I might caution you on is the roof. I've heard that vinyl-covered roofs could be suceptible to rust if the vinyl develops cracks. Fee free to join in our discussions, and get those pics up as soon as you can..... Marshall
Holy Freholie. Nice, I like that there is no pillar between doors. Roll down the windows and its wide open space! very cool. Welcome...
One heck of a ride !!!!!!!!!!! Really nice! call it the "Green Monster" and I now call mine "Da Freak"..... lol. Your wagon is really sweet.
What a Caddy ! I believe everyone said it right. Awesome Caddy. Looks great already. It should draw a crowd anyplace you drive.
as if it wasn't big enough...it has a roof rack! That is an amazing car, you must be very excited. I'm not sure what your going to detail, it's already a looker...congratulations and Welcome
