Went to the wrecking yard today. This place RARELY has anything past 1985 and once you get there, it has been picked over pretty well.

Found this. A 1977 Ford LTD base four door, 67k original miles. Only options I saw, A/C, 400 cid engine, and the lower chrome trim. The car was MINT inside. Someone had covered everything in plastic. The sad part, someone pulled that off in the yard. The front bench is still stain an rip free and the back seat, looks brand new.

I pulled a few parts, the grill, steering wheel (no cracks), spark plug wires (date coded 1977), turn sig switch, instrument cluster trim, right hand mirror, and a few other bits. I asked about the engine, the guy behind the counter said it would not run. But would sell it for $250.:slap:

Funny thing is, the ignition mod is date coded from 1977. Betcha thats all it is! I found a battery, it cranked for me and had compression.

Also looked for parts for my '73 Buick Century. Found a shell of a '77 Monte Carlo. Took what was left, the wheel covers. A '76 Pontiac Grand Prix that was pretty raunchy and picked over. Also a '73 full size Pontiac. Engine was gone but the seats were very clean (no rips or stains) but the rest of the dash was torn up.

Route 14 Junk Yard in Woodstock, IL. I would say another few miles, you would be in Wisconsin.
