download.jpg Does anyone think the 1973 Squire's are ugly? Many people bash on these so much, but I love them. Disclaimer: not my wagon, but representative of what I want the wagon I am pursuing to look like.

Anyone who thinks they're ugly, eyesores, dinosaurs, they need a brain transplant.

I wouldn't say it's 'ugly', but there are better colors for it than that Ford green........

Silver with a reddish wood-patterned vinyl fake wouldn't look as bad, if non-woodgrains didn't count. The only problem with silver was that it faded quick, if not regularly garaged.
My favorites are the rounded off ones before and after the series in question. As you see, I've abstained from voting :162:

I think some people think the locomotive bumpers look clunky, but to me that was the lay of the land back then. I really like those ‘70’s Ford and Mercury wagons of that period. I especially liked the ‘75-‘76 models. They had the stand up Landau type hood ornament, and many had the chrome strip down the center of the hood. Very luxurious. ‘79 was somewhat of a let down at the time, but I like that body style now too.

Yeah, when I get my 73 squire I will DEFINETLY be adding that hood ornament and I had no idea about the chrome strip so may add that too.

Well they had the LTD badging on the grill. Plus Ford written across the header panel. Also in ‘75 the hood got the raised center, which would naturally accommodate the extra chrome strip. If you’re not totally stuck on the ‘73, get a ‘75-76 with Landau interior group, and you got everything luxo in a Country Squire. Or a ‘73 Squire like the one in the magazine adds with the Squire Brougham option is a really nicely loaded Squire. Good luck on your persuit what ever wagon you wind up with. To me they’re all great cars! Happy hunting!

They are not ugly at all. Not even in that wonderful Green.

Well I am stuck with a specific one because it was my late grandfather's. And thanks for the luck!
