bet ya didn't even notice i was gone!
i went to Bethany Beach Delaware for the week. as soon as my wife gets the camera uploaded i will throw up some more photos. but to start..
we started the week off right.... after we got in to the town house we rented and did some grocery shopping. we all went to dinner at Dogfish head brewpub in Rehoboth Beach Del. (about a 15 min drive or so)

sooo...on that note (if you dont do beer or good food.. fast forward to the next paragraph) The place is now my favorite restaurant. I had a pizza called alpine iydll. it was flatbread with goat cheese, truffle oil, mushrooms prosciutto and arugula. soo good. my buddy mike (scoob8000) had fish and chips made with dogfish rather than cod...so yeah...shark.
the beer....oh the beer! i started off with a Theobroma it is one of dogfish's ancient ale series, its made with cocoa and ancho chilies.
then i had one that is only available at the brewpub. its called hot thoup!
it is an imperial pale ale made with ginger and carrots. it is probably the most refreshing beer i have ever had.
    then...i had...on draft....the holy grail of IPA's dogfish head 120 min IPA.
i have two bottles waiting for a special occasion im my kitchen. it was good to have it on tap. on the return trip for dinner on friday i had Bitches Brew on tap. it was made to commemorate the miles davis album of the same name.

Thursday we went to the brewery for a tour. they even let Delaney tour too. (but no samples for her) [IMG]

this last one is the tank that they make their Palo Santo Marron. it is made of Palo Santo wood. it took them 16 diamond tipped saw blades to make this tank.

ok beer snobbery over. we had absolutely perfect weather while we were there. upper 70's F the water was warm. and it was after tourist season so it was quiet until thursday (then bike week started) i rented a body board ..a nice bat tail CustomX but the surf didnt quite cooperate. i got 1 good day of riding. oh well there were sand castles to be built!

omg...jenn actually got into the water with all the critters in it
    [IMG]

so wednesday we went and rented motor scooters in ocean city... about 15 min in the other direction.
we rote for 3 hours (note that it was me mike and jess...jenn wouldn't ride one) so in our riding we rode over to the "Wheels of yesterday" museum only to find out it was closing and they were selling off all the cars. bummer! i had just enough battery left on my phone to snap a few pic's of what was for sale outside!

That Scenic Cruiser bus is one of my fantasy purchases. I keep threatening to sell our house in 2 years after the last of 4 kids graduates college and by a motor home to live in - my wife tells me to go right ahead but she's keeping the house. It would be cool to have an old style bus but have a modern drivetrain in it, then tow my wagon behind it.

next are two pics of the new rehoboth inlet bridge with different exposures

there is nothing around this bridge. bethany on one side and miles of delaware seashore on the other. so you can see this bridge miles away.

That would be quite the hauler - Greyhound bus with two station wagons trailing behind it! With 8,000 members, we could go for almost 22 years and only mooch off of 1 member every day. Sounds like a plan!

22 years ??????? I'd probably have to slow down in 20 ! Of course a few are no longer on here and a few others may not tell us where they live! :)But with newer members everyday we would do okay. And as forgetful as some of those old guys are we could sneak back every few years.
We could build a double decker tow dolly for the wagons so we wouldn't excede the legal length. Wouldn't want to break any laws.
This Fall we could run out to Utard to help dewey finish that long forgotten interior in his wagon and swing by that red rock canyon to check up on those wayward girls.
Spend the winter in that small state of Texas. Stop and see Ian and sample his beer supply.
Maybe head up to Canada in the spring to see how those renovations are still going. So much good we could do for our fellow wagon friends in exchange for some food, drink, and guidance.
