It sure does look good. Not sure about it having the name Elizabeth but you could always rename it once you adopt it. Asking 1,800 so may take 1,500 (or less?). Nice car. Would look good with you and the family going down the road.
OK - question for you all: This appears to be a 'woodless' Grand Marquis. 'Wood' it still be one that was called 'Grand Marquis Colony Park' (with wood delete option), or 'wood' it have been called simply a Grand Marqiuis wagon?
I was just having some fun with that one BECAUSE, just today, we were joking with friends about names people give things and pets and our neighbors three little girls, all under ten, named their ****zu Melanie, their teenie weenie dog Mila and their himalayan cat Myles. Their mom has no idea where they came up with the names, or why they all have to start with an "M", or why every thing the kids have has a name, nothing is a thing. Then your post came up and I just had to run with it. Life is good isn't it?
I feel like a real sap, but I could knot leaf this one alone. I think the root of your problem is that you pine for an answer. Woodn't you agree? Oh man, that was bad, wasn't it??
KK, that is an excellent question and it is one I have to admit I don't know the answer to. I do know a Country Squire was never available with a "wood delete" option. If it had wood, it was a Country Squire, if it didn't have wood, it was a Crown Victoria wagon, from 1979-1991. I'm not sure if it was the same way with Mercury or not.
I know Mercury at one time used the 'Commuter' moniker on their 'woodless' big wagons, but I don't recall seeing that name system on the '79 - '91 wagons.....
I'll take a stab,, since KBB dont have a break down it's Grand" no matter the deleted options were. If not, BIGFORD man will chime in!! I did a KBB private party price,, / good condition. with miles and leather,, came up with $1550
I'm suprised with the black on black, considering it's a one owner car. The only other black wagons from that era I have ever seen were goverment cars
just talked to a buddy who works for ford and has since the 70's. he said that the 80-91 marquis wagons were never available without wood. it must've been a strip job. its cetainly the 1st one ive seen
