What a neat ride. I'll bet that that console/shifter are surplus '72 and older Ford full-size that they sent down there to get used up(?) All I know is I want one, and probably Mercman Bill does too....

    What a neat channel.

It indeed is interesting. After seeing this car I looked up a Mexican 1972 Ford commercial on YouTube, and they sold Galaxie 500’s with the LTD grills, and lower molding cladding. It didn’t appear that any of the interiors had wood tone appliqué on the doors, and there were a couple of coupes that had consoles and horseshoe shifters, which left the US market in ‘71. So you’re probably right Bill. Those went to Mexico, and who knows how long they were available.

I believe those bucket seats and console came out of the mid 70's Torino/LTD II parts bin....... Well, the seats anyway.
