I've never put a time frame on completing my wagon. I figure if you give yourself a date it needs to be finished by, you can drive yourself crazy trying to make that date.
I take one thing at a time and do it till it's finsihed, then move on to the next thing.

Yup...probably the best way. Take each part of the project and finish it to perfection and then move on. That's what I like to do. When you are done it's done without worrying about things you have to go back to do.

:yup: I figure, that I plan on keeping the wagon for a good long time. I might as well pick and choose what I fix, when I fix it and how much I spend on it. If I did everything that I wanted as per a schedule, I'd probably wind up doing too much of it at once and going broke. This way I pick a few things that will really improve the car and putz away at them.

My motivation? It was my only car! Still took 16 months. Good thing we've got 4 bus routes close by.

I could write a novel about trying to stay optimistic and keep motivated on a project, especially the "Ranch Wagon" which has taught me patience and the meaning of never quit,,just walk away from it for a while!

This wagon ended up with 105 patch panels and it took 3,300 lbs of sand to blast ever square inch of it.

Dead lines and projected finish times take a mental & physical toll on me so I just keep plugging away waiting for the big day.

BTW,the wagon has been a ongoing project for almost 9 years and went far beyond what I originally intended.HRP

Totally agree... sometimes the best way to stay motivated is to do something else for awhile and come back with a "fresh" outlook. Although I find that the something else I go to is usually another car project.. It's an addiction for sure. I think this is why a lot of us have multiple projects going on at the same time. Well said sir! :tiphat:

Defiantly,I have a good friend that has the same passion for cars as I do and during the construction of the wagon we have built 2 1932 Ford trucks,a 40 ford coupe and a 34 Chevy coupe not to mention helping other folks with their projects.

The wagon will hopefully be completed this year and if my intro ever shows up from being in limbo I'll post pictures of it as it sits now.HRP
