Just today, I discovered this forum... very happy to have found it.

I've been a big, big fan of station wagons since I was a kid... just thought they were the coolest rides. Even while in high school, in the '60's, when a longroof was the antithesis of cool, I cruised 'em... the bigger, the better. It never ceased to amaze me, the number of guys and their boards, that could be stuffed into and onto a '59 Parkwood.

Anyway, my current wagon is a 2007 Magnum R/T... a really nice, and fast, car. I've managed to make a few mods, nothing major, but they set it apart a bit.

As I said, it's great to find a site dedicated to stationwagons, all kinds, and hope I can be an asset to the forum.

Here's a photo, or two, of my current ride... hope you like.

Thanks for the complement... I've got a few "mods" I'm working on, building a semi-custom intake system, utilizing the SRT airbox, but dumping the "accordian" tube, fabricating a tubular, polished aluminum intake tract from the airbox to the TB... and a lower section to create a true cold air intake.

Not sure that it will add much horsepower, but it'll be different.

:Welcome:Waldo. I love that Magnum. I'm currently between wagons and Magnum is one of the wagons on my list.

Fantastic looking! I too did high school in the 60's but all the way on the other side of the country. Walpole, Massachusetts. 1970 graduate.

I grew up in West LA.

Nice mods in the engine compartment.

As to the wagon itself, one reason I didn't like the Magnum so much was the wagon roofline gradually decreased in height going to the back. Seems to me it really would cut down your cargo-carrying ability. I know that big hatch helps out in loading, but how is it at actually carrying a lot of stuff?

Actually, it's not too bad. Obviously, it's not as spacious as the wagons of the past, but at the time I bought mine, there were no really competitively priced alternatives.

Of course, now it seems as if every car maker is "introducing" their version of a "sport-wagon".

I don't use mine for hauling anything really, I guess I should admit that for me, a wagon is more about style than function... it's not difficult to find low, fast, wing-thing, swoopies. Having a low, fast, swoopy wagon, in my humble opinion, is far cooler.

I've pretty much negated hauling anything other than soft or light stuff, I fabricated a "woodie" style floor in the back... though it is very easy to lift out if carrying something is unavoidable. I'm still workin' on matching rear seat backs.

I built it out of furniture grade maple ply with mahogany inlays, then hand rubbed with cabinet wax... it's very slippery (lol).

If the wood is on the inside could it still be considered a woody?
