    Hallo,

my name is Dirk and I live in Germany. I have a 1988 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser which is currently under restoration.
I hope the restoration can be finished until May, so that I can use my season car registration.

    Best regards
    Munzel

Yes, this May. The car is stripped off all Mouldings, Headliner and so on. The new color will be applied this or next week. This is then the third colour. After the original colour anyone painted it in a horrible brown.

So what color are you painting it?

You definitely have good taste in automobiles. Do you have any pics that you would like to share? Where did you find you car?

    Oh yeah :Welcome:

    Hallo,

thank you for your interest. I bought my car here in Germany 12 years ago. Due to the unfortunate introduction of the Euro I had to pay much more than usual for these cars.
In all this years I had not to much repairs, but the transmission was dying two times. The 2nd transmission was a reinforced TH200-4R (one of the drive shafts was thicker than normal). On a holiday trip the OD sprag broke down on the highway.
I guess it came from the relative hard shifting.
Now I have a standard transmission without any reinforcement and it shifts smooth. 1-2 very soft, 2-3 is a little bit harder, 3-4 very soft. I think it is perfect.

I like my Olds, it is a point of colour in the mass of uniform modern cars.
If I found a picture, I will post it.

    Best regards
    Munzel
