We have a 2008 Chevy Suburban. Recently we noticed the door speakers were not working. The front sounds only came out of the tweeters near the dash. It not only sounded terrible, but it also eliminated hearing the ONSTAR voice, the door chimes, etc. Since both door speakers stopped at the same time, I thought the trouble could be an amp, the head unit, or a faulty harness. After a little investigation on the net, I discovered that this is a very common issue with GM. Our non-Bose system had cheap speakers that have been known to be faulty. I researched how to remove the door panel on Youtube, and disassembled the door. I had to find out for my self, and pulled the factory speaker, which were round and about 6 inches. I did not have a round speaker, but I had an old 6x9 speaker in the shed, so I connected it. It worked perfectly. To be sure, I reconnected the factory speaker, and well, nothing. I then went to Crutchfield, typed in my vehicle info, and chose the right speaker for me. They included a mount, harness adapter, and installation information for free. So, there you have it. If you have a similar issue, check those cheap factory speakers. Luke
