Picked up the Trailer that a fellow club member is lending me (he won't sell it to me yet!!!!) It solves both the luggage, tool & spare part's issues, and mounts a spare tire! I never feel good about driving 2 days one way with no spare or jack.

Well, at least yours shouldn't have trouble pulling that........Probably will only drop your mpg by a mile per gallon or so.....
    What's in South Dakota?

The National Solstice and Sky meet is in Rapid City this year, delayed from 2019. Some Site seeing Good people, good roads, and maybe and autocross. We don't have a definate commitment for the site for the autocross yet. Only 1 week before the event is planned.
As for pulling the trailer I have only pulled it empty, the car did not even notice it was back there, if I can believe the MPG reading on the driver information center, I got 23.6 mpg without the trailer, and the windows and roof up & 78 mph. On the 100 mile trip with the trailer back home, empty trailer, top and windows down, it said I got 23.3 mpg at mostly 70 mph. So towing the empty trailer did not effect the mpg. I think the difference was more due to having the top down.

Really looking forward to the trip.

According to our leaders there’s a second pandemic coming, so enjoy the trip. I can’t imagine seeing all those Solstice and Sky’s together. They’re such neat cars. Drive safe, and enjoy.

Made it back safely, when I sort out the pictures I will post them here. Made a detour on the way home to visit the Pontiac Transportation Museum in Pontiac IL (the starting point of Rt 66 I am told) attached is a shot of the car there.

Just to prove there were a few cars at the event, I am told that 76 of the 94 cars made it for the group photo

Correct, you have a very good eye. Just by chance the only 2 Mallett Modified cars were parked next to each other. The red sky to my cars right (with the black stripes) is the other LS2 Mallet. And I beleive the Sky is the only V8 with more miles than my cars 43,000. He just rolled over 53,ooo miles in his. But he is the original owner. I am the 3rd owner of my car. The 2nd owner put just under 600 miles on the car while he owned it.

Your car's silver is slightly darker than GM's standard Argent Silver, so that was logical to guess it was yours. But I'm surprised there were only your and the red Mallet cars.

Sorry, no Phantoms in the photo. The fighter behind the Lancer's left wing is an F100 Super Sabre.
