Just about any brand is good enough. I have an Innova I bought five years ago for $45 for EFI, so don't pay any more than that for a low-pressure unit.
Parts for the big 67 Fords are hard to find. Is your guage bad or could it be your sending unit ? Tuesday I'll be talking to a guy that maybe able to come up with a part number to help in your search.
I had someone look at it. They told me the gauge was faulty, but thought the sending unit was ok. Not quite sure at this point.
With the older Fords if you ground your sending unit wire it should go to full. There also is a constant voltage regulator on back of instrument panel for the fuel guage that could be bad. With the ethonol in todays fuel I have twice seen that it will corrode away the float on the sending unit to the point it no longer works. You have to pull sending unit to check this.
I've seen very few fuel gauges go bad. Or if someone has been messing with the wiring. Usually it's the in tank sending unit corroded, bent, wire off, or just old and broken.
