So, I was going throgh some pics on here, when I saw a caprice estate similar to mine, sitting proudly atop mud tires on a 4x4 frame. I was wondering how hard it would be to convert my 87 to a 4x4 setup (307/200r4) I know it won't be easy, but I'm wondering what it would entail. Any help would be greaty appreciated!

Just measure your frame and find a Chevy truck frame the same length and just swap bodies. Don't use the Olds 304 and 200 4R trans you will need a complete rolling chassis with the engine and trans that works with the transfer case.

It appears to be a very heavy duty truck frame. Not a normal 4X4 frame. Although I am sure you could use one. Here is another 4X4 wagon. Some don't like 4X4 conversions but I do.

I'm going to sound like a hypocrite but I'm not a fan of putting a different body on a truck chasis. However I'll be taking out the ifs front axle and doing a soild axle swap in one of my wagons. Keep your Caprice the way it is and find yourself an Eagle.

The last one looks like they took the body of an Olds Cutlass Cruiser and put it on a truck frame.

I don't wanna doit, I just need to get through the snow, and that may be my best way to do it, plus, don't forget, I'm a redneck LOL.

A stock Eagle with a decent set of tires will get you through most snow on the road. I took mine out after a blizzard last year before they plowed the roads and had no problems what so ever. It was funny seeing the looks on peoples faces when they were shoveling their driveways and I came down the street in snow that was up to my front bumper. I live on a corner lot and this was the view out of my front door. The fence you see sticking up is a little over 3 ft tall and there is a street out there.

That's a beautiful eagle. I almost picked one up identical to it, same color and everything. $400 and the only problem was a valve cover leak (likely a gasket) and my dad said that 2 cars is already one too many. So I'm trying to make due with what I have. I would love an eagle though. Everyone tells me I should get one.
