O.K if this has been posted before, sorry.
My '73 Colony Park magic tailgate swings open but doesn't swing down... you roll the window down and grab inside handle, and it releases the top latch but doesn't come down... am I missing something? something need to be adjusted in the door? or do I need the adjustment? :dizzy:
Also does the window go all the way down in the door, or should it leave about a 1/4 inch sticking out the top?

The '83 CP I had left about an 1/8" bit poking out. It sounds like the hinge is binding, or one latch is not fully releasing. You should be able to swing the T/G out and remove the inner panel to look at the mechanisms.

What you need is the factory service manual set.

The window in my 66 Fairlane goes all the way down into the gate. It seems strange that it swings out, but not down.
