I just caught this on the web but there is no official announcement yet. This came from Ford Inside News so it should be true. I sure hope so!

Yeah, 442, they dropped the wagon that was popular and I really liked that little wagon. So did many others. I guarantee, if they bring it back, the Focus sales will go up again.

Have any of you actually driven a Focus?
I remember renting one when they first came out, and it just didn't fit me.
I'm about 6'1" and it was awkward, justed seemed like it was made for small people.
    I guess I didn't like the ergonomics.

Frankly, Andy....I have not. Looked at them inside & out but never actually sat in one even. I liked the looks and the options for a car in this price range but can't say anything about ergonomics or engine or drive-train or handling etc. This 2012 model may be upgraded. They often do that....maybe you'll like it this time around. OTOH, tall people usually don't like small cars.:D

The Focus that they're talking about is an all-new one. The first ones (sedan and 5-door hatch versions only) are just now starting to arrive at the dealerships.

Ford was real negligent with their small car program. The Focus first came out in 2000 (1999 in europe). It was a 'world design' car - pretty much the same car for Europe and here. The trouble began when they brought out an all new Focus in Europe in 2005 (or was it 2006 - not sure) We kept on going with the same old Focus - just a little refresh only. Got another refresh for 2009. Finally, everybody gets a new Focus for 2012.

Hopefully that wagon will show up here around Jan., 2012. Europe's getting it for sure. They're real fond of small wagons over there.

Last time I was in Europe, wagons were as popular as SUVs in North America.

I was thinking of getting a Focus this Fall. But, if Ford's coming out with a wagon, I'll wait till they are available.
I test-drove a 2-door Sport in 2009, it was a little less than optimal, but not too bad. Hopefully, I can get a manual trans in this new wagon.

There were Focus wagons until around 2007, DR. If you want a new one they may be back in 2012.

Ford seems to be getting real wierd with how they are equipping and optioning the new Focus. There are all these trim groups and option packages, and some of the trim groups are only available with the auto trans, which is a new dual-clutch design. It seems they're only offering the manual trans in the lower trim models. Also, in the past, Ford was for some reason, not stocking the dealers with very many manual wagons. They were very rare. Some owners I've talked to had to special-order theirs.....
