Hey all! I stumbled across this website when I googled '1980 Volaré wagon' and, amazingly enough, I found three pics of my wagon! See http://www.stationwagonforums.com/f...php?i=2718&catid=searchresults&searchid=94289 I am working to get it a little nicer than these dated pics. (How did my wagon make it to this site? I bought it a couple months ago.) A basic wagon, 1 bbl slant six with a 3-speed manual and O/D. My 2007 Dodge Magnum is almost as fun to drive but doesn't get as many looks! Looking forward to hangin' here!
Looks like Wagonmaster posted these pictures in 2008. I'm sure he'll be along to welcome you and end the mystery. to SWF, not many wagons get here before their owners... Hope you enjoy the site.
to the wagon forum. Glad you decided to join your wagon here. They can lead us to many exciting places.
Gotta love those smaller Dodge wagons. I had a 78 aspen wagon with a 360 and gas was cheap then so i really dont know hoe econmic it was. Ill tell you it was fun racing for that single lane comin up. I love the slant 6 probably more economic than a 360. the only bad thing was rust hiding every where. My wife and I got hit in the snow by an idiot and the whole front clip seemed to dissinigrate right in front of our eyes. I loved that car and wouldbuy another in a heart beat but only without the rust.
Welcome to the madness, and I'm so glad you followed your car home! That is one very rare wagon you have there. By 1980, not many of the wagons came with the 1 bbl 225, and even fewer with the optional overdrive 4 speed. Add the rear wiper, and you are looking at even lower production numbers. Enjoy yourself around here, and feel free to join in. We need more lively voices!
PG I know what you mean...i just bought a 89 Country squire for the winter...she hardly gets a 2nd look compared to the 60's wagons so whats the plans for the Volare...(whooooohooooa)...
I'm gonna throw a little mud at her and give her a fresh coal of paint next spring. I put on a new set of skins and shocks. Just gonna leave her stock for now...
