Welcome aboard! So what's the story on the wagon? Where'd you get it, how's it equipped? Bought my first wagon a year and a half ago - lots of fun! What's the plans for the wagon?
lol... I bought it off Craigslist for 500.00 The guy was asking 1500 I told him ah it's pretty rough I'll give you 800.00. He says No. So I said alright I'll call ya later and I leave. So I get about 2 Miles away and he calls me back and says I'll take 700.00. HMMM... Well I said 700.00 OK... Well he already came off the 1500 to half. So he said I need rent money! lol... Now I got him! hahaha.. I said I'll give ya 500 bucks! He said come get it. So I did. It seems as though someone put a 302 with an overdrive in it. The A/C still works! lol It runs really smooth after I found the Mixture screws in the intake cause they fell out! Edlebrock Carb... and the trans is now full of fluid cause the cooler line was blown out. lol.. Anyway I bought the Weld wheels and tires stuck them on and now I'm here. I also found a 3.73 Posi rear end from a 93 Mustang cop car and some UPR uppers and lowers adjustable with sperical bushings and solid bushings. I'm gonna throw a 5.3 in it with 250 shot and a turbo 400 with a 3000 stall. Leave it the same color and condition. Just clean up the Interior a bit. The guy was hauling a trailer around for a Catering Company! There's cooking oil all inside in the carpet and such! Maybe this kept it from rusting! lol
great community of people here for info and support. hope you enjoy the new ride and the site. i know myself after i had my first wagon i had to have another.
Installing a Chevy 5.3, with a G.M. 3 speed automatic sounds like a LOT of work, considering there are Ford engines and transmissions that will slide right in easily. Welcome to the nut house. You will have fun around here.
Welcome. I like your car and your plan, every good Ford has a Chevy small block in it, ask any street rodder that owns one.
welcome to the forums. Sounds like you are going to have fun with building the wagon the way you want it. Good for you.
