I'm not exactly sure what one of the 2 celebrations are, but Mexico is celebrating its 1910 Revolution (Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata - 100 years ago) and a Bi-centenary. So the Mexican States have special programming with some of the best revolution-era films (Black and White mostly) across the country. We were watching a national concert for the folks hit by Hurricane Alex in North Eastern Mexico around Monterrey, MX (my wife's hometown) and the channel would break with announcements about all these movies and documentaries. Last night was all about Columbus and how he negotiated with Rome and Spain and Portugal to come to the new Frontier. Neat stuff. Excellent music interviews on one show called Timpano on Sunday evening (midnite CDT) - Jazz, Rock, Rock n Roll, and the stereo-type Mexican styles of music. Livingroom setting with the musician and/or his band and run by other musicians doing the interviews and jamming. Neat. Just hit the 'Senal Internacional' pic on the left.
