Been wanting a Ford wagon for as long as I can remember. I've been on the lookout recently, and finally picked up a '77 LTD II Squire. Me and the wife love it. Took the kids to run errands in it tonight. The little one enjoyed sitting in the back seat. The interior is in great shape. No rust, never been wrecked. Drives good, but has some minor issues that need attention.

Great wagon!! What's under the hood, the 302, one of the 351s or the 400? The 460 was not factory available, I know. I know most of what there is to know about these mid-sized Fords. Great cars! Unfortunately I am in the process of scrapping my latest Thunderbird. By the way, it is VERY easy to get really decent highway fuel economy out of these cars, no matter the engine. Mid to high 20s is a snap. With a bunch of work, well into the 30s is very much achievable. With really serious work, it is possible to get them well into the 40s to the U.S. gallon.

    I had a 77 Ford wagon with a 460 and a 77 Lincoln with a 460.

Somewhere I read that the largest power plant available in my wagon was a 351M. Not sure if that's right. But that's what I've got!

I was told by many when I had both the wagon and the Lincoln that I could not have a 460 in either of them. But...I did. And they were factory. Proper numbers and under hood stickers right from the factory. Even I thought that 76 was the last year for the 460 but I was wrong. Couple years back I posted a cherry 77 wagon like muscle's here that was on eBay and it had a factory 460 in it also. Trust me....available or not...the 460 lived in some Ford vehicles through 77.

I know the full size Fords still had a 460 option, seen it, but I thought this mid size (by 70's standards) it was not avalible????

Beautiful wagon. Wonder which one will get used more - the '77 or the Magnum?
