Well, spirit, I cannot thank you enough for this video! I couldn't believe it when I saw that the video was about gas stations in Wisconsin! I saw MANY stations that I saw as a kid and growing up in Wisconsin. My dad owned several gas stations in Madison and one of them is shown in this film! At 17:56 there is a DX (Diamond) station that my dad owned. I washed a lot of cars there and built some cars there and pumped a ton of gas there! I also know the Parman's and they have been there on Monroe Street as long as I can remember until just recently. In fact, it wasn't long ago that the last Parman retired from that station. Man....this brought back SO many memories. I was in and bought gas at several of the stations shown and I think there were two other stations that my dad owned but I couldn't be sure.
    Thanks for the memories, spirit!(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

I want my old 1970's Gulf station back I worked in as a kid! Me, 3 other HS buddies, the owner, his 4 boys and a couple others pumped 100,000 gallons a month there and did all kinds of service and repairs. Alignment rack and automatic car wash too.

Them's were the days, No Nox, Good Gulf and Gulftane. Multi G oil 10w40.

The shell of the building is still there last time I was in East Point, GA at the corner of Washington and Stone but the pumps, car wash, service equipment is long gone. I think its some sort of convenience store/market now.

    Thanks fer the memories Yeller!

Thanks. I'm glad someone still appreciates stuff like this. Someday, they'll all be gone.

Thanks for the video, Super job.... It' been awhile since I heard a real hood shut.

The SOUND of that Plymouth in the beginning of the video getting its hood shut made me smile. It almost brought tears to my eyes. :biglaugh:

Thank you Yellerspirit.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima I finally got my wife to watch something on my computer longer than a few minutes. Of course we don't remember any of those old stations. Way before our time!:D
We're not from Wisconsin but do remember seeing some of those gas stations when there as a baby. Sadly most of the ones we grew up with are long gone.
There is an old gas station about 12 miles from our home in the tiny town of Trenton, Florida I'd love to own. Right at a main intersection. I remember it being closed when we first moved here 18 years ago. Then a sign shop, an antiques shop, a small used car lot, and it is either a realty office or empty now. Has that tall red peaked roof design and one attached bay. Again thanks!

I worked at a full service station in the early 90s, one of the last, and it was always a lot busier if it was cold or raining. I'm not sure why :hmmm:

I worked in central Illinois at a Clark Station right at the end of the Illinois River bridge. Just a small building to keep warm with restrooms and a place to store oil and antifreeze. Always busier in winter or during a rain storm. Sold only 100 octaine fuel. Often 50 cents at a time. :slap:
