Attending this show today with the 66 Mustang as the show was featuring all generations of Mustangs. Took pictures of the wagons here, four total. 1966 Chevrolet wagon 1966/67 Chevy II wagon 1968 Chevy 1966 Ford Sedan Delivery 1961 Parkwood And finally a Dodge Power Wagon
Looks like a cool show. Thanks for sharing the photos with us. So, two of the wagons you photographed have quad headlights, with the inboard lights having amber lenses. I've seen this occasionally and have no idea what the purpose is. Our 64 Plymouth has quad headlights, the inboard lights being the brights/high-beams. I know amber lenses are often used for fog lights. But all of the conventional wisdom I have ever heard has been against using high-beams in the fog. Seems counterintuitive to me. Is this just something someone thought was cool? Is it racing inspired? Genuinely curious.
You know, that's a good question. I've always thought it was for fog as well, but i get your point about high beams in fog (I've always heard that as well, it reflects more than penetrates). Maybe the amber lights are additional low-beam bulbs tapped into the wiring? The three prong connector on the back is the same. Now I'm going to have to fins someone and ask questions.
All sounds perfectly plausible! Honestly if it had just been one car I probably would have just thought "Well, it's just someone being unique." but two cars made me think "hang on... am I missing something?"
