The Daytona 500 is on TV and I don't see Danica Patrick in the race. So...she was supposed to be in it.....anybody know what happened?

She races in the Nationwide Series, not the Sprint Cup series. Their race was yesterday. She came in 14th.

Oh. I could have sworn that she was in the 500 in the past year or so.

Mark Martin drives the GO Daddy car in the Sprint Cup race. Nail biter wasn't it. Love it that #21 Trevor Bayne won...small time bet all the BIG guys :yippee:

Yeah....that's one happy kid tonight! Loved it. And he can drive! I still want Mark to win it but when I saw he couldn't I pulled for the kid.
Not a NASCAR fan but I used to live in Ponce Inlet (South Daytona Beach) and would go to the 500 so I still watch it.

Yeah, Tony's my driver this year. That Trevor kid can really drive. Handled himself real well. Even for the veteran pros, that high-speed drafting gets to their nerves. Kid was real poised - even with the after-race interview. There's going to be some BIG scrambling for his services now - he's not signed to any long-term team contract.

I just don't find nascar fun. its rather boring to me. i appreciate the rich history of it but id rather watch real cars race. nascars share absolutely nothing with the factory ones they represent. Personally i like World Rally Championship. those cars are even street legal!

I was the same way until I went to an Event. Have you ever been or seen a race in person?

Yeah, Amp....that's why I watch the 500...only one I watch. When I lived in Daytona Beach I would go to the race. What was even better was the time trials. You could stand right by the wall and when the car would come out of the turn and go by....the wind would just about knock you over. THAT was impressive! It looks boring only because you can't see or feel the SPEED on TV because the camera follows the cars and takes away the realization of speed. I love the Indy 500 too. I held my eye on an object directly across the track at Indy and when a car would pass my line of sight I MIGHT see a blip of color. Might. That's how fast these cars are going. I find it boring to watch on TV except for the close ups and stories on the car builders.

Yeah it is very hard to do justice on the sound and speed when you are not there...

I mean you are talking about 50 900+ horsepower cars all running at the same time going 200+ mph

    It is intense!
