Hello, We finally got it! We are now proud owners of a Chrysler New Yorker 1963, 8 seats. We picked her up in Falun, 500 km away from where we live here in Kareby, Sweden. The car was imported from California last year. The first owner restored the motor upon arrival, since he runs a car workshop and didn´t want to be seen in a car with motor problems. He fixed the seats aswell, since the interior of the seats where like powder and fell apart. It seems like the car have been standing many years in a hot barn, and it is in very good original condition. And now it´s ours... Overhere is snow and we will keep it indoors until the spring comes, giving us time to fix the hanging inner roof, the mat and a hook for the caravan that is on the agenda for the coming season.
Cat, what a beautiful car! Congratulations! I really like the colors, and the paint seems to be really sharp.
That's a beautiful wagon! Good for you. We have several members from Sweden here who might be able to help you finding parts too, Check in the Member List, from the Community menu. This site has lots of links and tips for Chryslers and Imperials: http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/index.htm http://www.imperialclub.com/index.htm
to the wagon train, Cat. That is a NICE wagon! Not many people have a 63 New Yorker Wagon that nice over HERE. Stick around and keep us posted about that beauty.
Nice wagon, Cat. I'll bet it really must be a huge "head turner" in Sweden; it surely would be over here as well, but I'm thinking your's may be the only one of its kind in the entire country. Great find. Best of luck with it.
Good find on the wagon. And welcome to the forum. It is always fun to see what treasure some one else has just acquired. Sort of makes a daily check in (at least once a day, maybe more) worthwhile when new purchases like this show up.
Love your '63 NY'er T&C! The round taillamps, square steering wheel, A/C, hardtop styling. It's got it all! LOVE IT! to the forum! David
