Chevy Station Wagon. Year?

Hello, my siblings and I (grew up in the 60's) are trying to remember what year our dad's chevy station wagon was. Originally I think he drove a white '60 or '61. Then he bought a turquoise green wagon. It is seen in this photo. At this time (early-mid 70's) it sat dead in the side yard. (transmission failed) Later towed to a junk yard). But anyway, from the photo can anyone accurately date what year it was? We believe either 65, 66 or 67. But want to know for sure what it was. Thanks, Gary

I'm thinking '67, look at the 'unibrow' trim across the front end above the grille and headlights.

 

My guess was 68?

 

BTW, PRRK4s, I'm a railfan and model railroader, and though I don't model any Eastern roads, I do know the Pennsy K4s steam loco. Are you somehow associated with them? A family member operated one, fired on one?

 

Okay, I found body diagrams that include front end images, and I screenshot all from '65 to '69:



The '67 has the unibrow look, whereas '68 has the headlight bezels breaking that trimline between the hood and grille. I'll leave the discussion open for more posts.

 

Thanks for the help so far. I found the original slide again and tried to get a better shot. It is a little clearer than the earlier attempt. The slide was also date stamped for 1978. Later than I thought the photo was taken. Any better thoughts now? I'm still thinking it is 67 or earlier. I was born in 61 and I remember the car as a kid. My dad never bought new vehicles so anything 68 or beyond is kinda doubtful. But,.....?

And Andrew, yes, good catch. PRRK4s is indeed a reference to the K4s steam locomotives. That's where my interest is, both modeling and prototype. Hardware is what I collect. Whistles, Bells, Plates, Marker Lights, etc. I've been told in the past that when God was handing out Brains, I thought he said Trains. So, I was in the wrong line.

 

67 Bel Air wagon and a 73 Impala or caprice in the garage.

 

Thanks, Jim. Yeah, we're now leaning towards it was a '67 wagon. And correct on the yellow car in the garage. It is a 1973 Impala. That was the last car he bought. After that it was International Scouts, '75 and '78. Then onto an '85 Chevy Blazer.

 

Yup. Most definitely a '67 Bel Air.

 

Yeah, I was behind you for that line. I was born in Rhode Island (Dad was a Naval Officer) but I pretty much grew up in Western Washington. So I model Hill Lines. But, no railroadiana, too expensive for me.
