This is the most thorough Ford decoder: http://www.hammar.dyndns.org/~djhamma/partnumb.htm Should be a Mopar one here: http://www.allpar.com/ or here: http://www.moparts.com/index.html Don't know about GM or Bentley wagons.
Not to be picky, but isn't it just "checking a VIN"? Who started the whole "VIN Number" thing? It even says it in the ads below! Since it's a Vehicle Identification Number, you wouldn't say "Check the Vehicle Identification Number Number" But yes, as others have said, the where/what depends on what you are looking for and make/model/year.
And here I though I was the only one that was bothered by the Department of Redundancy Department. How about ATM Machine? :banghead3:
Hey Man, your in Vancouver so I'm asuming it's a BC regitered car your talking about,a car you want to drive the country with this October, rite? ICBC or ANY Auto Plan office will help you for free. Providing you have the VIN # and the BC registration #. This will tell you about any leans, inspections, accidents, etc. If you talk sweeet to the ladies depending on where you are they mite even tell you the drivers history witch can say alot about said car.....but that does'nt happen, I never said that, or ever had that kind of help How Ever....If you looking for what engine codes are compared to what the car has etc, etc, options from the # the other guys have it..
