This article covers what may be the Holy Grail of 1960s & 1970s wagons: a Vista Cruiser with most of the Hurst Cutlass 442 performance equipment.

I don't have the specifics presently, but I've read before that there are factory records that a few ingenious folks figured out how to custom order Vista Cruisers from the factory in Lansing, MI with stuff meant for the muscle car coupes. I think the records show that only a handful were ever made this way.

The magazines spec spreadsheet tells a story:
    • 390 hp
    • 500 lb/ft of torque @ 3600 rpm
    • 0-60 in 6.2 seconds
    • Quarter mile in 14.7 seconds @ 93.6 mph
    • Top Speed of 127 mph
Similarly there were a couple of hot Vista Cruisers made for use at the 1972 Indy 500.

If you read this article, don't overlook the opportunity to see other old Vista Cruiser photos by clicking on the "Other Photos" rectangle inside the photos that accompany the text. There's some good stuff there.
