    I have a 1977 Ford LTD 2.Was wondering if anyone knows about the gearing for this model?Mine is a 3 speed but when put into D mode only run on 1 gear.When put into 2 it shifts gears.Cant figure what the issue is.Hoping someone can shed some light.Thks

    I think I can help. I have a '79 Ranchero GT, and while it does not have the original drivetrain, it may have the same or similar drivetrain. First, I need for you to ID your engine and trans. I think I know what's wrong, but to help you, I'll need to know specifics. Can you take a pic of your door tag, and email it to silvertwinkiehobo@gmail.com? That way, the info stays between us.

    BTW, that's a straight car with a nice color.

    You're quite welcome; Babe, unfortunately, has been beaten with a few ugly sticks and needs body rust repair and all new priming and painting, so ending up with one that is that straight, that clean, means less hard work.
