This is what I have to work with. I still believe it to be in above average shape even after my 3 years of neglect.

Around the back windows starting to show a little rust, 2nd row seat has what looks like white paint stain which I seen when I bought it 3 years ago. Drivers seat back has 2 small spots in stitching which I think I can fix, Passenger rear door has a spot where body filler cracked (it has had 1 or 2 repaints in it's life) way back, headliner (couple small stains which should come out) and spare tire well in very good shape. The dash is excellent shape without a crack. I have 2 or 3 times thought about just buying a running driving wagon but am torn and not sure what to do. My biggest thing is getting engine back in. Used to do it all the time but like a lot of members here I need a knee replacement and don't get around as well anymore but could still do it and if so I will just sit engine in and then put in garage and do a little at a time but I also consider just finding a decent '92-96 Caprice, RoadMaster or Olds wagon. Put a set of wheels on it and be done...and I wonder why my kids can't make up their mind! :hmmm:

Nice pictures. So why did you let it set three years. That wagon looks pretty good. What are your latest plans?
I was typing when you made your next comment. For me my hips went. Then I poked my eye out. Then I recouperated and got lazy and old. Retirement wasn't supposed to be this way and you've still got along ways to go.

I had the most productive day today I have had in a while. It sat as a result of me trading work with a engine guy at work. I did my end but his end took 2 years but in his defense 2 motors I was going to build ended up bad. The 3rd one was good but the heads I bought because of it being from a friend I didn't notice the broken bolt in it and after trying for a week to drill it out had to send to machine shop. They didn't rush so just been one thing after other which in turn discouraged me and 3 years ago when I bought it my knee, hip and back were in better shape but I am leaning towards dropping motor in and then putting in garage and if it takes me 6 more months so be it but my dad pretty much told me to S#@t or get off the pot because he gave me a spot for it in our garage and if I ain't doing anything with it, it is taking up space and he is going to get another project and put there.

So I cleaned his Corvette and Malibu today for him along with the '55 and my wagon today!

Old age is hell----even when you're still young!

At least I got to see your finished garage addition. Now get the wagon in there and show us some progress.
    Easy for me to say!:)
Did drive the 55 wagon into town and back yesterday. Ran good. I'm still not sure about the new narrow whites and Cragers. Actually they are still narrow blues.

I was kind of surprised when I pulled it out the woods and washed it off it has held up better than I thought. I still have it out on pavement in front of garage and in the next few weeks I will set engine down in it then give it some indoor storage.

Front bumper is trash and driver door panel needs some fixing but other than that I think it is just a lot of little things it needs.

I like that picture Tedy, I made a copy and have it hanging in my office at work as a reminder to everyone and myself that we don't own all the worlds problems! (y)

After searching and looking at wagons for a month or so now I realize mine is really still a good solid wagon that is worth saving if not by me, someone that would do it justice.

I still remember when I was a kid seeing the man in the big city and a little girl in our town sitting on a board with roller skate wheels. Nether of them had legs but always were smiling.
And the neighbor with the hook for a arm and hand. When we tried to help him he'd say thanks but he don't need any help.

I know a guy with one arm and he can work a shovel better than I could with 2 good arms!

I also am going to need bumper fillers, does anyone know if they offer any? And a good source for some little things I will need.

Well that's enough of that kinda talk! Life gets in the way of alot of great plans but that is no reason to give up on your project.

You own a REALLY nice looking wagon

That's right Dennis. Don't make us send Fannie down to the swamp to talk to you. When she gets done wrestlin your gators she'll be lookin for you.
That's too nice of a wagon to be trading off.

I am just amazed all the plastic trim in the interior are all still in great shape and still have good color. It has been so long since I fooled with it and as I said I am to blame for the neglect it has received for the past 3 years but maybe I will get back on track with it soon. Baby steps and I did get a slightly used Edelbrock 650cfm carb today so that is one less thing for her.
