What a break that was! I see it had that Black/Salmon interior trim. Are you going with that? I like the old-school colour schemes. Some like that one really went with the car's styling.

I'm just warmin' up! I know its a wagon site, but tell us a bit about that Hemi-powered Mopar. My dad and I built up a 392 from a 1958 Imperial, and got the Solid Lifter heads and dual carb manifolds on trip through Mississippi. We built it for a Funny-Car bread truck, but the rules changed and the track was scared of sidewinds, so we dropped it into 1965 Dodge Coronet Convertible. Done to the teeth! We had to put a scoop on to clear the carbs. Dad and I went 50-50 on it and after he got too many fines, he called me to buy him out, cause mom wouldn't let him pay them from the family account. She drove the car and got small fines, but dad just couldn't resist a good show at the lights. :rofl2:

Quite the plumbing job too! Are you running hydraulics to drive it?

No... back in the 70's when I built that one I used air shocks front and rear with pumps in the trunk. I didn't want the ride of hydraulics.
There were no air bags back then....

Yeah, we did that too! I remember seeing a 1958 Buick with two compressors AC and Shocks. Think it was an Electra or Roadmaster 4-door.

For future reference, the French Citroen had an airlift system, that you could use to change a tire with. I only saw pictures, but it would raise the car up high enough to change a flat or raise the clearance depending on the roads you were on, from about 1963. Maybe even today's models.

First of all: :Welcome:. What a fabulous custom job you did on that Rambler! My first car was a Valiant with a /6 and I did think about putting a turbo on. But then it was more the time of plans and ideas then of actually doing....
The Citroen still has it, but there are many others who have something similar. I believe Citroen is the only one who doesn't use springs at all, though. Most others have a pneumatic assist. My Opel Omega station (Caddilac Catera) had in in the back for ride height control, and my Subaru has it all around, electronically controlled as well. Very smooth ride!!! Maybe these are similar to the highjackers.
