These guys sell molded carpet sets on Ebay at really low prices. I was wondering if anyone here has any personal experience? They have a 100% rating...... http://www.ebay.com/itm/77-90-BUICK...Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item4ab395e053
I bought the carpet for my '73 Custom Cruiser from this company. Worked out just fine. Here's a couple of photos of the front seat area right after I installed it.
They are selling carpets manufactured by ACC. The prices are comparable to other retailers, and you don't have to go through eBay to get a good price. I recommend Stock Interiors. I have purchased all my carpets from them, and the one time that I had a problem, they had it replaced immediately. You can't beat their service, and you are dealing with a human being, not having to jump through hoops to find someone that cares enough to help when you have a problem. Junk..
Nothing against Stock Interiors, but I dealt with nothing but humans when I bought from Aardvark. The person I spoke with was very helpful and friendly, the carpet arrived very quickly, and I think the product in the photos speaks for itself. I don't see how you can get any better than that. I never had a problem, so I can't speak to the level of "hoop-jumping" I would have to go through if I did, but that's hardly a strike against them.
The hoop jumping comes when you have a problem and have to go through eBay to make a claim. I have nothing against dealing with them directly, but whenever eBay is involved, it can get ugly quickly. I see them as an unnecessary middle man in this instance. If you are looking for the best price on an ACC carpet, go to www.rockauto.com and purchase it there. They have the best prices that I have found.
Thanks so much for the info. guys! It looks as though Rock Auto sells ACC carpets at a lower price than ACC does. Jaunty75, your carpet install looks great!
Nice. I have some leaks to fix before I dare install new carpet. I know where I will be shopping now.
I ordered the new ACC Carpets from Rock Auto today. The price was about $50.00 less than ordering directly from ACC, and without the Ebay/PayPal hassle that comes with Aardvark. The set was just under $300.00, including shipping, for cut pile mass backed carpets, floor mats, and a dash cover. I hope the color matches- they said it was OEM blue, but it seems lighter. I'll be worrying about that until I see them myself. I'll post before and after pics of the install....
Neat coincidence that I just saw this thread tonight. I was just talking with the fellow who owns Aardvark. He stopped by my house because he was in town visiting family and had some old tools for me. He and I are both mods on a tool and garage forum. Anyway, the guy is a top-notch human being. He was talking about his various businesses, and mentioned Aardvark. I'll be going to him next time I need carpet for any of my rides.
I'm sure what you bought is fine, but there is no hassle with Aardvark. You do not have to go through ebay or Paypal to deal with them. Just go right to their website and order like you would at Rockauto or anywhere else. http://www.varkmotors.com/ They may choose to do some of their marketing through ebay as an additional channel through which to reach potential customers. Many vendors of all types do that. It doesn't mean that ebay is the ONLY way you can deal with them.
Good to know that. I may have saved myself a couple dollars if I had called Aardvark. Apparently there are only a couple of places that actually MAKE the carpets, and this will maybe help the next guy who wants to buy carpet for an old car. I read the reviews for the lower priced J C Whitney carpet, I'm so glad I didn't order that !
I am looking to buy a Carpet for my guest room and not finding the good carpet manufacturer who sell best carpets at comparable prices. Is ACC manufactures home Carpets also or only auto carpets ?
