WOW!!! I like Draco buuuuut, and maybe I missed this in my haste to read and see pix cause I'm covered in drool here, but what if it tips over. It looks like it has a pretty tipsy center of balance even with it weight pressing down on the tires. I am fully aware of what our star is doing to us, what it may do, and some of what it has done in the past as well as how much of threat our nearest star beetle juice is capable of. It's a loaded gun that's aimed right at us, speaking in stellar terms. I am also quite aware of what our own earth has in store for us. The Yellowstone caldera. The west coast. New Madrid. Heat waves. Droughts. Killer storms. Pole shifts. Mormons. My mother in law [shudders]. Just to name a few. Not going to mention all that humans do to threaten themselves as a species... I don't want to be living in a world like that and be stuck praying for something to tip that thing back onto its wheels...

I'm going to go have some more coffee now. Believe it or not but it will actually normalize me sometimes.

That Draco is too cool!! With it's size I would be worried about going into places it was designed to go, but, it probably makes it in and out every time!

    Not anymore

A scenario demanding one to "bug out" would necessitate fuel economy. Few of the wagons owned here would be of much use.

While sitting in waiting room of wife's doctor today, waiting, there was a poll question on TV about "DO YOU NEED A GUN TO PROTECT YOUR FAMILY."

Since this is a general question the answer would be yes and no for me.
If a gang of pushy Girl Scouts came to the door insisting I buy cookies I probably could handle the situation without drawing a weapon.

If an escaped deranged gang of rapists with guns broke down the door I believe having a gun may help change their minds.

As food, gas, and everything goes sky high things will look ugly and maybe a gun will help temporarily. Guess I'd better fuel up the Draco.

Those things tend to be quiet, as long as you don't feed them things like onions and beans. However, do not underestimate the ability of drones to spot warm-blooded mammals with their infrared sensors. your best bet would be to ride a horse suffering from a fever, so that any government-issued missle will hit the horse's hotspot and not yours, Sir:

The more hotspots the better. A couple phony hotspots wouldn't hurt.

Funnier than heck points aside.. if someone with military equipment wants you dead, being NOT dead is going to be a huge challenge.
I used to work on military contracts for different targeting systems. An M1-A can see one haaayuul of a distance and drop a round in the middle of your heat signature from miles away..
and there is nothing that can stop a round in flight.
So, being sharp, being mobile, and have E&E skills is going to make your life longer..

Mythbusters did a thing on beating infrared security.

Tory was finally able to crack the thermal system only after he donned an insulated, heat-resistant fire suit. Then, to doubly bust the myth, Tory walked through the room undetected by holding a pane of glass in front of him. Although it allows visible light to pass through, glass mostly blocks infrared. Sure enough, Tory's infrared energy — and the thermal camera myth — was no match for the thick glass shield.

Now that I think about a thermal blanket for the whole car might be nice as just keeping warm can suck up resources.A car gilly suit maybe.

A test drive of the "Route" would be advisable along with locating caves.

If the oppressor is any military be sure that they will be fubar.
