Are the speakers in the rear cargo area panels 6X9s? Crutchfield only lists the front and rear door speakers.
on my 93 they were. you will never get good sound from there. the rear of the speaker is not isolated from the front so bass dont exsist. i found a template on the impalaSSforums and used it to mount 5X7 speakers in my front doors. they sound great from the pioneer radio but i am gonne amp them up soon and add a sub. the bass they put with the radio power is pretty impressive. many people think there is a sub when they hear the stereo when the car is sitting still. its pretty funny. I used JLXR570CX speakers. had to trim a tiny but of metal for the speakers to clear.. made my adapters from half inch plexi. i bolted adapters to door and shimmed to the adapter to keep it flat so the speaker would remain flat when mounted. also placed a bumper material between the door and the edge of the lower front corner of the door panel because it will vibrate from the bass if you dont. i used a 3M mastic adhesive pad and trimmed it to fit about a MM exposed from behind the door panel is all you see. not for the timid, but it really pays off better than anything you can do with the rear speaker holes. the rear speaker locations ar a goor home for a couple mid sized amps.
