Just picked up a 95 Roadmaster and the temp gauge doesn't work. The guy I bought it from put in a new temp sensor (in the front of the block) but that didn't do any good. What should I check next?

The is no sensor "in the front of the block". The LT1 has 2 coolant temp senders. The one at the water pump is what feeds the PCM. The one in the passenger side head is the one you want to check out.

Make sure that if it is fused, that the fuse is good. Is it part of the dash or added afterwards?

It is "normal" for the guages in these to get messed up.
At least it is on the '96 models.
The needle gets slammed over to one side when starting, and subsequently get thrown out of whack.
If you try to fix it, it will happen again anyways.

Thanks for the reply's. tempest and dean. You were right dean, I crawed under the car and found the sensor and when I pulled the insulation back the whole plug and wire came out in my hand. The wire was broke into. That wire and a wire to the starter come out of the same harness, so as I was trying to pull back the black tubing to expose more wire the starter wire came off too. It broke at the terminal. Guess I'll pull the starter and fix that along with the temp wire and hopefully that will take care of it.
