I stumbled on this while trying to avoid the morning rush hour traffic in Nashville. This was parked outside a body shop Northeast of Nashville. Anyone recognize it? I was in to much of a hurry to get home to stop and get better pictures. Can't tell much about the Sedan Delivery conversion, but to my eyes it looks like they just welded shut the rear doors, and possibly the passenger side front door also. From my bad picture I can't see a gap that would indicate the remaining passenger door still opens. Also looks to be an in process project, by how high the front is sitting, and the 4"x4" keeping it from rolling forward.
Appears they definitely kept the shorter '4-door' front doors, saving them a bunch of work moving B pillars, etc. It's also jacked up - maybe for a 4WD conversion. I would think components from a S-10/Colorado or possibly a AWD Astro van could be put to use....... Never seen this particular unit before, but I have seen pics of other panel conversions on these. I think we have a member who did one...quite a few years ago.
When you say “home” does that mean you live here now?!? Either way you’re in Nashville and you didn’t look me up??? Can’t say I blame you
Oh man! I forgot you moved down there! Where at again? I loved living in Austin. I didn’t realize I liked BBQ until I moved there. I’m more of a lone star drinker!
There were a couple of guys on here when I first became a member that were building 2 door sedan deliveries out of mid 80's GM wagons.
Here's one of them: http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/media/81-malibu-sdn-del.5218/ Belongs to ryottboys. He was real active for a while and then like so many, just disappeared. Last seen on January 2nd, 2012.
I knew there was anoher one, but it took me longer to find because it was an Olds. http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/garage/1979-oldsmobile-cutlass-cruiser.31/ This one belongs to The Stickman. He was one of the regulars a decade ago when I joined, and has been on here more recently, but the most recent was April 20th, 2020.
New Braunfels now, just up FM 306 from what is slated to become the world's second largest Buc-ees. And, Lone Star is like a lot of other local beers, lightweight, cuts heat and thirst. Shiner's a bit heftier, good paired with chargrilled foods.
