Wow..........Saw the pic of the 2-door Granada, and something flashed in my head. I may have completely forgotten a car my folks owned. Maybe this is a 'false memory' - I just don't know. We would be talking about right around '76 - '77. I know that around 1973 they bought a 1972 Gran Torino coupe - yellow, with a white vinyl half-top. Then, around 1978, I remember the blue Olds Cutlass coupe - a fairly plain-jane version. Something in the back of head is saying they had a brown Granada (most likely a '76 model) - not a 'Ghia', and it may have had the straight 6 in it? I dunno........... I'll have to ask other family members who were around then if I'm remembering correctly. (Also wondering why, if they had the Granada, why it was replaced so quickly, and why dad went back to a GM product after 3 Fords in a row....?) Folks are both gone now, so I can't ask them.........
That Georgia body looks well worth the money. Especially, since it's a potential Mustangable sleeper: http://topclassiccarsforsale.com/ford/364032-nicest-granada-hotrod-in-america.html
Probably because Granada’s did not seem to hold up well. The couple my sisters owned seemed to have mid to late 70’s Chrysler build quality. Both had Montigo’s before the Granada’s. They were very disappointed with just about everything about the Granda’s exept the purchase price
I had a green/green '77 Ghia 2-door, 302/C4, once, and I really would've liked to have kept it, but the building rust and deterioration of all the interior plastic made me get rid of it eventually.
Rotting plastic is something one will just have to live with on any car of that era. Just like cracking dashes
I managed to score an uncracked dashpad for Babe a couple weekends ago! I was sooooo surprised and pleased!
Don't see Granadas around much anymore, especially of the two door variety. One thing is for certain, if you were to purchase this car, you'd have the only one around.
