1st let me start out by saying the sellers title is more than a bit deceiving! 1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass OMEGA OMEGA COUPE BARN FIND RARE AC AUTO LIKE V8 BIG BLOCK SMALL 350 What is a Cutlass Omega? And how is the 250 I-6 "like V8 Big Block Small 350?" Other than that I like the car, I-6, A/C, nice looking surviver. I happen to like the color but I can agree that it is a Love/Hate color. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-COUPE...-RESERVE-/291559724791?_trksid=p2054897.l4275
Can someone edit this posts heading for me? I Miss typed the year in the Heading it should read 1976 not 1979.
Before buying her '81 FWD Omega, my M-I-L had a '76 Chevy Concours 2-door (sort of a plush Nova) with the straight 6 like this one. The 6 ran HORRIBLE. Same with the '68 Camaro my wife had when I met her. IMO, the Chevy 6's did not like ANY smog equipment added to them. Stumbling at idle, poor acceleration, and poor gas mileage was the rule......
The Monojet carbs were crapola, so when GM popped the smog stuff on, they didn't know whether to s#!t or go blind. It wasn't until GM allowed the Varajet 2-stage 2-barrels and integral-cast heads that the inline sixes came back to life. Of course, a couple years later, Chebby and GMC changed over to the 4.3L V6.
