On my 64 had the same problem. The dome light is attached only to the card board and sags from age. On a 64 sedan the dome light is attached to a headliner bracket . I got one out of a sedan and put it in the wagon.
That's good to know. I assumed that was probably the case. Unfortunately 64 Plymouths aren't exactly plentiful in wrecking yards these days. Do you know if it is reproduced? Do you know if any other years such as 63,63, 65 use the same bracket? I will certainly stock up on dust masks and begin saving my pennies and dimes. At this rate, check back in about three years. I may have enough saved by then.
No sure on the bracket if other years will fit. I ,ll have to look I might have a extra one. On a other note , I thought I saw somewhere that there was a supplier who was making a cloth headliner to replace the fiber board ones? Anyone seen this?
When I restored my '62 Savoy Suburban, I found a set of used headliner pieces (seven) and plastic trim strips at a local Mopar swap meet. They were in good condition, just dirty, so I wiped them down a few times using Spray Nine cleaner. Now, if I could just find the twelve little metal finish "caps" that attach to the ends of the plastic strips ......
I might have some extra of the end clips . I will have to look. I did not have another of the bows with the mount for the dome light.
