This is up for auction at an auction house I sometimes go to. They usually have about 50-100 cars, farm equipment, heavy equipment and assorted stuff for auction. Ad says it is a 1960 "Chrysler Car" (I thought the "car" part was obvious.) But is it really a '61 or '62? A quick Google image search seems to show the '60 New Yorkers as having horizontal headlights. True? Or not? One of the '60 New Yorkers found on Google: And this is the car for sale. Description is short: "dont run". But ... doesn't look all that bad ... VIN is listed as "MOESCAR". Maybe Moe is an employee. Usually the auction house provides the VIN. It's an honourable place. Car looks OK, even if there's lots of crap in the front seat and the passenger door trim is missing. Maybe it's in the back seat. http://www.rideauauctions.com/items/39148/343/
It appears to be a '61, but it's definitely not a New Yorker. Probably a Windsor or a Newport, but it's missing some chrome trim pieces on the fender and front door. http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/chrysler/crs61/crs61.html
It is a 1961 Chrysler Newport. The '62 cars look nearly identical, except the fins are gone completely for '62. That purple '60 in the OP is indeed a 1960 Chrysler. 1961 1962
Here's a '62 Newport for sale in Ontario. The treatment some old cars get is just ... sad. http://www.kijiji.ca/v-classic-cars...ar/1150803442?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true
So "Moe's Car" is no longer listed in the list of cars for this Saturday's auction. Bet someone came in and mad Moe an offer he couldn't refuse. http://www.rideauauctions.com/auctions/343/auction.do?order=year
